Mellakka Becomes Finland’s Largest Influencer Marketing Agency

Mellakka Helsinki has acquired influencer marketing agency Hypement. The deal includes the transfer of the entire business and all employees. Hypement’s largest clients include Kotipizza and Coca-Cola.

“Both Mellakka Helsinki and Hypement grew by several tens of percent over the past year. That’s proof they’re doing excellent work and staying relevant. When you combine two strong players, you get something even stronger. Looking at the entire Mellakka group, we now form Finland’s largest influencer marketing agency, both in terms of headcount and a combined revenue of 13 million euros,” says Santtu Parkkonen, Chairman of the Board at Mellakka Helsinki.

According to IAB, influencer marketing in Finland has been growing for years alongside online and outdoor advertising, while many other forms of advertising are in decline. Media consumption continues to shift strongly toward social media—the primary platform for influencers. Compared to many brands, influencers have the ability to mobilize people and create phenomena. However, phenomena don’t emerge if influencer marketing is bought like media space.

“Influencer marketing is a key part of modern PR and has been part of Mellakka’s toolkit from the very beginning. Brands are no longer built through one-way communication, but through interaction, dialogue, and experiences. Influencers play a significant role in all of this. With this acquisition, our influencer expertise will grow even stronger, and I’m confident in saying that we now have the capability to deliver PR on an exceptionally broad scale in Finland,” says Annina Pikkumäki, CEO of Mellakka Helsinki.

Mellakka Helsinki has always stood out in the agency landscape due to its holistic approach. Communications, social media, marketing, influencer work, and events are combined strategically, boldly, and creatively to maximize impact.

“Influencer marketing continues to grow and diversify – it’s no longer just about commercial collaborations on social media, but about all marketing communications where influencers’ personalities, expertise, and impact are leveraged. Together, we can deliver even more significant and effective solutions for our clients,” says Max Kolu, Co-founder of Hypement.
